In Response To Suit, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Admits It Created And Operated Taskforce Under Trump In Violation Of Federal Transparency Law

Wolf Popper is co-counsel with Democracy Forward representing consumer advocates in a suit against the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which under the Trump Administration created and operated a taskforce friendly to the financial industry in violation of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA). On November 29, 2021, the parties filed a Stipulated Settlement Agreement and Proposed Order in Federal Court in Boston in which the CFPB admitted it violated FACA and agreed to put a disclaimer on the report that the taskforce produced.
