Consumer Advocates Ask Court to Declare Unlawful a Trump-era Consumer Financial Protection Board Taskforce and to Block Use of Its Findings

Consumer advocates filed a motion in the United Stated District Court in Boston asking the court to declare that a Trump-era “Taskforce on Federal Consumer Financial Law” violated the Federal Advisory Committee Act and to bar the use of a report the Taskforce issued in January, 2021 that parrots the financial industry’s agenda to resist consumer financial protections.
