Wolf Popper LLP is pleased to announce that Philip M. Black has been promoted to partner, effective January 1, 2023. Phil joined the firm in March 2020, and, since then, has proven himself to be a zealous litigator, team player, and indispensable colleague. His practice focuses on commercial and securities litigation, corporate governance, and consumer rights, and he has litigated on behalf of his clients in both federal and state courts across the country.

Prior to joining Wolf Popper, Phil served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Litigation Bureau of the New York State Office of the Attorney General. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School (magna cum laude), where he was Editor-in-Chief of Volume 29 of the ABA Journal of Labor & Employment Law, and the University of Notre Dame (summa cum laude), where he received the Brother Cyprian, C.S.C. award for achieving the highest grade point average among Accountancy majors. In 2021 and 2022, Phil was named a "Rising Star" in Securities Litigation by Super Lawyers.
